Coincidentally, I spotted Jonathan Trott a couple of times while at Edgbaston Thursday and Friday. It is a detail that didn’t even make it into my match report (draft submitted), as I don’t suppose that “Jonathan Trott seen at Edgbaston” passes the “unexpected” test.

James Anderson’s career comprises an awful lot of weary suffering of disappointing batting spliced with about three years of Jonathan Trott.

I’m now very excited about this match report. Suspect there’ll be very little cricket to comment on, but maybe the journey to/from the ground will be good, particularly if it involves a good degree of hassle’n’faff with the testing malarkey.

Glaring absentees at the feast.

Just tell big brother what to do, Sam. It’s not THAT complicated.

I’m sure Ged meant minor in the sense of “lesser in importance or significance”, Sam (or possibly “having intervals of a semitone between the second and third degrees, and – usually – the fifth and sixth, and the seventh and eighth”?)

I echo APW’s request to Sam Minor for a match report.

Not so much a request as a filial instruction on your part, I suggest, Sam.

I am delighted to report that I have tested Sars-Cov-2 Negative this morning and shall be there with metaphorical reporter’s notebook in hand for Day Two.
