Delicious answers, Micko, thanks.

Re (4), your answer suggests that even a catch at “ever so slightly backward point” would still justify a stop-and-stare at the umpire from the batsman, possibly with added look-of-incredulity if the umpire’s finger were to be raised. I can visualise Stuart Broad or Laurence Elderbrook doing that.

I’ve realised overnight that there is a second answer to Gareth’s question, as I did also submit a “how it went” match report to KC “back then”, which no doubt KC will choose to publish “in the fullness of time”. Or let me know that it is on the spike, so that I might self publish it.

4) 90’00’01: must be going at least partly forwards from the batsman, caught at gully should not prompt a walk
5) Being in the same bar is a punchable offense

I somehow think after Question 2, members of the ‘dark side people’ will be inclined to snub you in conversation. Or worse (depending on how many beers they’ve had).

I’m glad you’ve asked me that question, Gareth.

Would you like to ask a follow-up question, Gareth? Just one, mind. And if I don’t like your tone, you won’t be invited to ask me another question ever again. >-) :-\
