England’s billion-and-one development squads and some other stuff

We’re generally of the opinion that despite reading a website written by us, you wouldn’t actually be that interested in anything we’ve written, so by and large we don’t tell you about any of it.

That said, we’re feeling lazy and can’t be arsed doing a proper update, so we’ll point you towards something we’ve written for Cricinfo. We were quite happy with this piece about England’s various development squads, which probably means that it’s shite.

In the unlikely even that you want to read the articles we do for Cricinfo, this is our author feed. The one about South African England players in crates was okay too – maybe a 6/10.

  1. I did – I liked the crates one, though I did wonder why it was the expats that needed crating – surely its the local Saffers who needed controlling?

  2. You should see the State U23 teams in Oz. Full of 28 year olds, but then Nielson calls the test team young, so what do I know?

At least we know where the Sky money is going, the ECB are chucking it all at eclectically named teams of never-will-bes.

  3. Did you decide to weave a whole story around the pun “Crate Expectations” or did the story idea come first.

    We need to know.

  4. I thought the development squad one was less shite than the crates one. I suspect andy flower didn’t say any of those things. And shouldn’t he be in a crate himself? i guess he’s been coach for long enough now though…. could be time for a change.

btw – thanks for removing Haydens ugly mug from the home page as requested. I have no further requests at the moment but I’ll let you know if there’s anything else you can do for me.

    kindest regards

  5. CM, it makes you ‘long suffering’.

Ged, we can’t do titles. That wasn’t our doing.
