I was at Headingley yesterday (too much happened in terms of the cricket for me to do a match report that doesn’t mention it, but suffice to say Leeds has some nice pubs and De Baga in Headingley is a much more cost-effective way of getting high quality nutrition than Iberica in the city centre), and if it wasn’t for the fact that all the easy drops were by Yorkshiremen, you would have been able to hear the complaints in Surrey.

On a more serious note, some of the crowd ‘banter’ seems to have got a lot more personal and unpleasant this year, mainly because of all the talk about what happened at Lord’s. Whatever you think of what Carey did, he wasn’t actively cheating, and on the other side, there were a handful of Aussie fans who seemed to be celebrating the fact that Robinson was injured. Maybe I’d go as far as suggesting there was some sort of line that people were in some way crossing, if that wasn’t such a ridiculous thing to say ….

What happens if you’re set 400 to score at 5 an over on the last day? Do you still go for it?

What if drawing the match is enough for you to win the series but losing it will mean the series will be drawn? What if drawing the match is enough for you to qualify for the WTC finals, but losing the match will mean you lose out?

What happens if you are set 600 and have a day to bat out? Still go YOLO and try for 7/over?
